When Change Is Uncomfortable

I WISH THIS WASN’T HAPPENING!

Do you ever have stuff come up that you wish wasn’t happening? Because maybe it would require you to make a change to your current plans or life habits?

And making a needed change might mean:

  • letting others down.
  • upsetting the status-quo.
  • inconveniencing yourself or others.
  • challenging current relationship dynamics you have with someone.
  • hurting someone’s feelings or yours.

So instead of helping yourself get an outcome you want or need, you resist making a change because really you’re afraid?

Like right now for me, I had planned to launch my signature coaching experience, THE RECLAIM YOURSELF JOURNEY at the end of May, start of June, and I now have personal things going on that are forcing me to change this.

I don’t want to reschedule because I believe changing the date disappoints interested participants, messes up my communication efforts and makes me feel like I’m being unprofessional. And the program is so powerful I really want to launch it now.

So what am I to do?

The truth is, denying change because we are afraid of possible results – which may or may not actually happen as we believe they might – doesn’t make our need go away.

For me, I must acknowledge the truth that making a schedule change is absolutely necessary.

I would make my life incredibly more stressful to not make this change and instead try to lead a group through a detailed process successfully, while my other personal factors needing my attention and energy remain.

In fact, the discomfort of an issue that needs change will build up until the discomfort of carrying, or denying it, either makes a significant problem, or, gets so uncomfortable that it pressures us into doing something about it.

For me, my current stressor is a small detail in life, but consider other bigger stressors and the cost of avoiding dealing with them?

Things like feeling you are:

  • Unfulfilled or unhappy in your current job, lifestyle, or relationship?
  • Unsupported or alone to manage lots of responsibilities which fill you with many negative thoughts and emotions?
  • Blocked from feeling genuine joy because you are burdened with too many heartaches?
  • Off-course from your dreams?
  • Lost within All the Stuff of Life?

It’s a big price to pay to avoid change and stay living with these circumstances just because you’re confused as to what to do or afraid of a bad outcome.

Do any of these resonate with you?

Let me know, because I can help.

And friend, if any of these do sound like you I can tell you you’re already in a bad outcome. Making a change can only make things better.

So what can you do you do to help yourself?

I teach the answer to these in my program THE RECLAIM YOURSELF JOURNEY which is now enrolling.
